Prerequisites: For this mid to advanced class you need to have some previous sculpting experience through formal classes and have completed 4 to 5 sculptures in clay.

In this workshop, participants will explore how to see the beauty of the human form. Whether you are a beginner or a professional artist this is a great opportunity to learn to sculpt with a live model.

This workshop is taught in a group structure where each individual will have the opportunity to expand their knowledge. You are encouraged to explore the possibilities of the medium and develop your own creative style.

Professional sculptor Joël A. Prévost teaches the techniques and the use of tools necessary to sculpt a free-standing sculpture of a live model, taking you step by step by adding, subtracting, coring and polishing.

The participant will sculpt a half form, from the thigh to the neck of the torso at a scale of 80% to 110% of its actual size. You only need to bring your desire to turn 44 kg (100 pounds) of clay into a 22 to 24 inch high sculpture.

Whether you wish to deepen your understanding of the anatomy or perfect your style, this course will provide a solid hands-on experience that will enrich your artistic approach.

This is a 28-hour workshop: It is important that you can be available during lunchtime as we will discuss the material. Please bring your lunch.
