Event Details

Oft-malighned, but each with their own magic and lore, some plants we now consider invasive were once brought lovingly into the home to protect, celebrate and add cheer over the darkest days of the year.

This Winter Solstice spend a cozy afternoon weaving these ancient plants (and their stories) into evergreen wreaths and holiday besoms (wee brooms) for your front door, mantle or to give as gifts.

This is a lovely opportunity for you and your child to get creative and make something really special for the season. We’ll also discuss different solstice traditions, chat about what makes a plant invasive and learn how to harvest greens with a small footprint.

Adult + 1 child-$45|Extra child/adult $20
Suitable from ages 7 and up, kids must be accompanied by an adult

Teacher:
Jennifer Aikman is a wildcrafter, blogger, aspiring wortcunner and homeschool parent-not necessarily in that order. She believes magic can be found right where we are by weaving the old ways with the new and connecting with the natural world through craft and celebration. Jennifer is excited to come together to make beautiful things and to light up the darkest night of the year with you and yours.
