Event Details

This full-day experiential workshop will be layered with mindfulness practices focused on relationship with self and others. These experiences will be evoked by somatic, emotional and transpersonal responses to spoken-word prompts, somatic awareness exercises, gentle physical contact and dance. Within this safe container, you will deepen your awareness of the stories that you unconsciously hold about yourself, others and your own life. As a doorway into “Beingness”, participants will learn how to recognize their restrictive habitual tendencies and how to relax around those core patterns. The relaxation of your patterns will lead you to a space of non-projection, and support you in accessing a state within yourself of presence and openness to others and life. This then provides a sense of true well-being where you can enter into a state of Loving Presence in which you can really receive another person. The day will culminate with practices in loving presence and learning to both receive and engender heart-centered listening.

Heidi completed a two-year Dharma Leadership Training with the Dharmata Institute in 2017 and has been studying Vipassana Meditation for eight years. Her longstanding NVC (Non-Violent Communication) training and practice has been invaluable in affording her high levels of sensitivity, attunement and diplomacy. She has been practicing various martial arts for thirty years and meditation and yoga for over twenty years. An educator, Heidi also launched and taught an alternative school that fused Montessori, Waldorf and project-based learning in Maui, Hawaii, where she lived for 18 years. Our gathering will take place on the traditional territories of the Esquimalt and Songhees First Nations, in unceded Lekwungen Territory. We are deeply grateful and humbled to these people for their stewardship of this beautiful land where we are blessed to live and share our offerings.
