Event Details

Artful Intention Setting is a monthly workshop where we will explore the concept and practice of intention setting through art journaling and creativity. In this workshop, we will discuss what intention setting is, how it can be useful to you and aid with living more fully in the present moment, brainstorm and choose intentions to set for the month ahead, and distill this intention into creative art through an art journaling process. The art journal you make will be your monthly reminder, or maybe even a page that you add to throughout the month, that will help you to keep your intentional practice.

Register through Eventbrite: https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/artful-intention-setting-tickets-72746780579

Details: 2 hours   |   $65/person

Art journals and journaling materials will be provided. However, if you have a favourite journal already please bring it with you. The journals provided are blank pages, not lined or gridded.

Tea and some snacks will also be provided. If you have any allergies or dietary restrictions, please leave a note in your registration or email love@themakewitch.ca

Location: 4 Corners Community Collective on Haultain St, Victoria BC, V8R 2K2

Maximum 8 spots available.

Cady’s philosophy around Intention Setting: “Setting a monthly intention is not adding another thing to your never-ending list of what you have to do each month. It is an active practice of slowing down and allowing some focus into your life that is not met with judgement or failure. Even if you set an intention at the beginning of the month and totally forget about it, you have not failed! Intention setting is a buildable practice that takes time to become an everyday part of your life. Intentions can be as abstract or specific as you need because you are deciding where and how to invite a bit more focus into your everyday. Each step forward is a step in living slower and being more aware and available for the present moment.

Cady’s goal is to source the majority of the art materials used for her workshops second hand. If you or someone you know has gently-used to half-used materials they no longer love and would like to donate, please email love@themakewitch.ca and Cady will arrange to come pick them up. Let’s use up those art materials that still have life rather than throwing them in the landfill. All fully used art materials will be recycled and properly disposed of through Zero Waste Box by TerraCycle.

Optional items to bring:

  • Your favourite art journal (if you have one, otherwise journals will be provided)
  • Favourite pen or art supplies if you have them (a variety of art supplies will be provided)

Transportation/Parking Options:

Free parking (and bike parking) is available around the studio. The location is also close to a number of bus routes (specifically the 22, 27, 28).
